About Jane · Biography

Who is Jane?

Jane is an award-winning speaker and author. Her passion is to help you navigate from fear to joy, from tasks gone wrong to positive connections. Throughout a lifetime of research, she has collected the most effective practices and tools designed to educate, energize, and inspire you to build brilliance and create joy. Her audience is diverse – from educators to global corporate employees (global corporate employees to educators), from U.S. Armed Forces to women inmates.

As a former educator, her fundamental responsibility was to create an environment where students could bring their best selves into the world. This meant guiding positive interactions with students, parents, and staff. Today, as an executive coach, the goal is the same – how to bring your brilliance to life.

Her first book, Building Your Brilliance: Move from Stressful Survival to Joyful Living, features a toolkit designed to help you build a bridge to joy, connection, and personal brilliance. Jane’s e-book SOS – Manage My Stress helps you to sail through the stormy seas of stress with ease!

Jane motivates audiences to adopt a mindset and implement behaviors to ignite inner brilliance. Her message is fun and easy to digest and implement. With realistic, doable tools the sessions are injected with humor to make them transformative, rewarding, and filled with energy!

Jane is a lifelong water enthusiast. Whether she’s swimming, snowshoeing, or simply spending time on the lake, any form of water will do. She lives in Minnesota with her husband, Brian, near their children and grandchildren, and they spend each summer at their cabin in northern Minnesota. She’s out on the water whenever she can — still getting up on one ski, swimming and playing with the grandkids, teaching them to swim, floating quietly, or cruising in the boat.

Task versus relationship—which is more important? Great leaders and great teams value both. Yet fear of damaging relationships can make it difficult to give clear feedback or set boundaries. • Identify how these patterns undermine leadership vision, strategy, accountability, and relationships.
  • Design a practical plan to reduce codependent patterns and build healthier team dynamics.

Jane is an incredibly insightful and riveting speaker. Whether her role is corporate consultant, conference leader, or group facilitator; helping others achieve self-mastery is her life’s work. It would be my wish that everyone in the world could learn her methods and “Uncover brilliance” in their own lives. It is so nice to hear from an excellent, uplifting, and passionate speaker. I like to be able to relate to a speaker . . . "If she can do it, so can I." She believes in what she is teaching, it has worked in her life, she truly wants to help others. "I too know what you’re going through, I made changes that I know you too can make, as a result you will be a more brilliant you!"

Coaching with Jane

Brain-based · Identity · Leadership

The goal of our work together is to uncover and build your brilliance.

That can sound like a slogan. Brain research says something more practical: to grow and change—especially in character—we need a trusting, calm, empathizing person beside us. Someone who can help us see what is blocking joy in how we live and work.

We get stuck. Stuck in patterns that do not lead to success. Stuck in old stories about who we are at our best. Stuck in workplace codependency and fear.

You do not have to stay there.

Coaching—or a small group of like-minded people—is one of the most important foundations of lasting change. In this program, I apply brain-based science to identity, problem-solving, decision-making, and relationship-building so you can move forward with more clarity, confidence, and connection.

I will walk with you as you name what is true, practice what is next, and strengthen a way of leading and living that builds your brilliance.

If you are ready to get unstuck and put your brilliance to work, I would be honored to coach you.

Coaching Process

  1. 1

    Intake

We begin by building rapport, prioritizing your goals, and defining what success will look like. A short inventory is sent before the first coaching call so our time together starts with focus.

  2. 2

    Tools and philosophies

The work is grounded in brain-based science as researched and taught by Drs. Allan Schore, Mark Waldman, Jim Wilder, Daniel Amen, and Dan Siegel.

  3. 3

    Development actions

Together we define practices that support your professional goals and can be used in real work and real relationships.

  4. 4

    As-needed consultation

Support between sessions is available by phone, text, or email when something urgent or useful comes up.

  5. 5

    Observation and exercises

Targeted exercises help you strengthen and expand the learning between sessions.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality is the hallmark of solid, successful coaching. If a written report is ever requested for another stakeholder, it will be reviewed and approved by you before it is sent.

Possible Coaching Objectives

  • Prioritize program goals and define success
  • Explore key values, natural leadership strengths, and who you are at your best
  • Name and confidently claim the leadership skills most important to your role
  • Evaluate behaviors and attitudes that build—or undermine—confidence
  • Identify stressors and triggers, then develop practices that heal and reduce what gets in the way
  • Build communication strategies that bring out your best, at work and in life
